Win 7 64 (this OS is now looking like a royal pain).
Can't get any sound from the 64 bit version.

In Audacity under Edit>Preferences there is nothing listed under Recording device. Clearly this is a problem, but I can't find anything online that tells how to fix this (not that I could understand).

Did the problem start around the same time you started messing around with your iTunes sound problems?

Well, you should read the instructions/suggestions before.

The "us" is not us, but the people at Audacity. Beta software with Beta issues

Oh, this will be my only post here ;)

Sadly, I don't have a clue where that info was posted Arie. As I said, I just want to load it up and go. That's pretty much how it's been in the past.
Maybe I'm just not up to speed on this. So call me Dumbo.
I should add, as I did in another thread, It's not like I'm totally confused, I'm just totally confused!

The problem is your sound card itself or its drivers. The problem is not Windows 7 or Audacity. I have Audacity version 1.3.9 (Unicode) beta running on Windows 7 with no problems. I have a Soundblaster Audigy card and Audacity detects and uses it.

    Upgrade your sound card.

Definitely not the sound card since I'm listening to iTunes as I type. No desire to change sound cards - this one works fine.
