An old closed thread offered good ideas to solve this problem but it does not work for me.

The solution was to close all open IE pages, then drag the small linked page to full size, then to click on the big X while also holding the cntrl key.

Unfortunately, this method did not solve my problem.

I am running IE7 under Vista home premium 64 bit and using tabbed browsing.

Thanks for any help you can offer.

No, you don't click the close button. Instead select File > Exit. To see the menu bar (which is where you'll find the File > Exit command) you have to press the [Alt] key.

If the [Ctrl] key doesn't do the 'trick', repeat & this time use the [Shift] key.

If that doesn't work either, try this:

Copy & paste the following in a text file:

    Code:
    REGEDIT4

    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main]
     "Window_Placement "=-

Rename the file reset_ie.reg, double click and import into your registry. It will delete the current Window_Placement value.

I am sorry to not have noticed this before.
The link is a PDF page and the only way to close it is "alt space " and clicking "control" at the same time didn't work. PDF must be a different issue?

I'd try the registry fix, but don't know if that would work for PDF.

    Thanks for the registry idea.
I have asked Adobe for an answer to the problem with their reader and they have not yet responded.
I will wait another week for Adobe, then if they still have not answered, I will try the registry fix.
Thanks so much for your help

Do not forget to back up your registry.

It has been more than 3 weeks and I have not received a reply from the Adobe Forum. I searched the knowledge base and help in the reader program and could not find any answers.

I don't feel comfortable doing a registry fix, so I will just have to live with the problem.

I did find that if I "right click" and then click the letter O the page opens full.

Why it won't open full by just clicking the link is still a mystery.

    Thanks for your help
