It used to work well, but I notice now that nothing will happen when I plug in a USB drive or an iPhone to the notebook running Windows 7 Prof (64-bit).

It used to ask me if I want to add a pre-fix to the pictures for import. What settings should I make to get this feature back?

What does AutoPlay in your Control Panel show?

On picture - Import pictures and videos using Windows.
Mixed content - Ask me every time.
Device - iPhone - Import pictures and videos using Windows.

They used to work with the same settings. Now, they don't work on iPhone nor USB thumbdrives.

Is the box Use AutoPlay for all media and devices checked?

Another thing you could try is to click the button Reset all defaults.

I don't know if Microsoft's Autoplay Repair Wizard works with Windows 7 (it lists Windows Server 2003;Windows XP as supported OS).

    Thanks Arie.

I checked the Use AutoPlay for all media and devices and the devices were then recognized. So, I had no chance to test the other two methods you told.

Check the box for all media and devices. (I was hesitate because I had other devices and wanted to confine the problem.)
