I went to sleep last night shutting my computer off and things were fine. Woke up this morning to find it has the wrong time and date.

    Computer information:
Windows XP Media Center Edition Service Pack 2 (build 2600)
    ECS A780GM-A 1.0
    2.20 gigahertz AMD Phenom 9550 Quad-Core
ECS A780GM-A 1.0 BIOS: American Megatrends Inc

Here are screenshots showing the issue...wrong time:

And I guess because the time is now in the past it's showing stuff as new which is not new....

    Welcome to WindowsBBS :)

If you reset the time/date to the correct values do they hold overnight?

Most likely cause of your issue is that the CMOS battery on the motherboardis flat - first step is to replace it.
You need to install SP3 - support for XP SP2 ends mid July and without SP3 you will no longer be able to obtain critical patches, etc through Windows Update.

Well I am planning on buying Windows 7 very soon in any case.

I have reset the time in the bios and now I will see if it holds overnight.
