I use FF and it's always memorised my passwords, but has suddenly stopped.

That's not very much information...But most passwords are stored in cookies - so look in the security settings.

Also, many anti spyware type softwares will clear out cookies if you're not carefull.

Steven, I didn't see anything strange on the security tab. Save passwords is ticked, yet it's not doing it.
Where are cookies enabled in FF?

    Hello Charles Berlin,

If i get you right you want to make your browser remember your password, right?! Then in FF you need to go to Tools>Options>Choose the Security Tab under security, there is an option for Passwords, CHECK the option for 'Remember Passwords for sites'
Let me hope this was what you were asking for?!
    Cheers

That's how I've had it set, but suddenly it's not remembering the passwords.

Is it "forgetting" for all the sites or for a few sites ?

First thought - maybe your FF profile is corrupt. Create a new profile & try from there. If it works then its ok else we have to dig further.

Found it's not FF, it's the site I'm going to. Apparently the site is keeping FF from offering to remember the password.
    Any way around this?

Does the site have an option like we do here-> Always Remeber Me?

But if its a site issue - sign in with IE if you can and ask them.

    No they don't, Steve.
I assume that because it's a collage site, it's for security.
Don't know what else to do.

I don't get this Steve - why sign in w/ IE? I can sign in w/ FF.

Do you remember writting this: Found it's not FF, it's the site I'm going to. Apparently the site is keeping FF from offering to remember the password.

If FF doesn't work well maybe IE will....

Some websites are created with Microsoft software, and may not look or behave properly with Firefox. But, you don't need to login using IE, just install the IE Tab addon , which will allow you to use the IE mode with Firefox.
Another possible cause of trouble is the Password, if it had been saved (Options|Security|Saved Passwords). Delete the item in question. In general, I have had no problem with Firefox not asking me to save passwords, but it could be the site. As a test, try a site which you know it should work, and see what happens. Windows BBS is a miserable example, because it, usually does not present the username/password, even if checked to remember it. But, all I need to do is to enter the first letter of the username.

Note: my original link was incorrect. There is a new version, which has been called Coral IE Tab, or IE Tab 2, which is compatible with 3.6.3

I wrote this because I thought it was accurate, though I could not prove it. It was fine w/ most sites, but not two sites (one of which it had always previously worked w/).

    Westside,
Tried the download (the newer one) and it had no affect on the two problem sites. I checked the stored passwords and neither were there.
As far as I remember both these sites worked fine on my previous HD. I know for sure one of them did, and the sites have not changed anything.
    I'm baffled!

    Hi Chas,

Some sites don't offer to save passwords as a security measure. I know my bank and a couple of other secure sites won't offer to save my password "” user name, yes "” but not the password.

The bank's site does allow password saving, but it's not working since the HD change!
