Lost connection from pc to printer, physical connection ok, printer is on a network with 7 other pc's, they connect ok.( Council IT put new security system in). Tried to download updated driver for HP deskjet 1220c printer, got message that 'Publisher' not recognised, went into IE tools, advanced, tried finding if something was not 'enabled'. Also tried activating Active X as suggested by message re 'Publisher'.
Found could not download anything, nothing was 'Recognised'
What am I not doing please?

If get "publisher not recognized" you should still be able to continue with the download and installation. If you can't then consult about the new security application via your IT dept.

An IP Address is a numerical representation of the networked computer. IP stands for Internet Protocol, meaning the rules that dictate how networked devices communicate with one another. (that's one definition)

For example, in your Web browser you type www dot yahoo dot com. Your computer sends the request for that Web page and the name is cross referenced to its numerical address (IP Address) and the request is then sent on.
