I used to view all my previously browsed sites as thumbnail in IE8 however recently those thumbanils are not visible in new tab and when i click on new tab its all blank. There are no thumbnails for my mostly viewed web sites.

can you help me how to get the thumbnail option back?

    thanks
    Saurabh

According to my research the New Tab does not feature links to frequently used sites, nor can I find any method of adding to the New Tab page.

To ensure that we are clear on the features of the New Tab please see .....

    Redesigned New Tab page

and the screenshot below of my current New Tab page.

FWIW I am running IE8 in Windows 7 Pro.

I have the same problem. I really miss those thumbnails. I read elsewhere this may have to do with Google making some sort of change?

orlyfla - Welcome to WindowsBBS :)

As i posted above I do not recall ever seeing the thumbnails of previously browsed sites in the New Tab, but I rarely use that anyway.

However if you feel that it is down to Google and you use the Google Toolbar try removing it and see if the thumbnails return. If Google is your default search engine change it temporarily and see if that resolved the problem.

    I found this .....

No doubt you have seen it?

    And I found this:

It's google toolbar "New Tab ", that these thumbnails were coming from. This post was driving me crazy. Although I don't use IE all that much anymore, I prefer Firefox, it's been even longer that I stopped using the "google tolobar ". No wonder I wasn't familiar with the missing thumbnail issue. I never had them to begin with. Ah.... now I feel better with this mystery solved. :)

Thanks Pete, you saved me an extra therapy session.
