Again, my thanks with your assistance, and please let me know if you'd like to see the directions provided by AGI for purportedly removing this.

They also said that if I upgraded to the *current* Webshots software, there "should be" a control panel for this--hah! Like I'll ever put any AGI software on my system again voluntarily! ;)

    Bless you for your assistance!

    I believe I said yes in post #16 :)
    I don't blame you.

Glad to be of some help.

Crunchie, not all can post attachments but I believe coldwaterjohns post
    would be similar.

    Trust them? Not a chance.

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice shame on me.

No worries. I read coldwaterjohns' post and I will be installing Kiwee on the VM to check out their removal procedure.

The makers of Kiwee toolbar etc. can say what they want, but anything that keeps spawning itself like that one does, is not good.

    Crunchie,

Sorry, was so focused on the Kaspersky instructions, I totally missed your request to see the AGI instructions.

Um, however, I can't get it to zip, nor can I find a way to attach the darn thing. It's not that long, and it isn't software, just instructions for steps to removing it all.

So *wince* I'm going to post it here. If it shouldn't be, please remove it and forgive me.

"I’m sorry for the trouble you are experiencing with the Kiwee toolbar. I have provided instructions on how to remove the Kiwee toolbar and reinstall the current version of Webshots that will correct this issue. Please follow these directions.
    1. Close all web browsers (Internet Explorer and Firefox).
    2. Exit out of Webshots. If you have the Webshots program running in your system tray (by computer clock), please right click on the icon and then left click on Exit Webshots Desktop.
    3. Right-click on the task bar and click Task Manager.
    4. Click on the Processes tab. You may or may not have these, but if you do, then end the process of AGCoreService.exe, kwtbaim.exe, and pythonservice.exe
    5. Open My Computer, double click to open the local or C: drive and then double click on the Program Files folder
    6. Delete the AGI directory. Right click on this folder and then left click on Delete from the dropdown menu. Follow these same directions to delete the folders in steps 7, 8, and 9 and 11.
    7. Delete the UnifiedToolbar directory.
    8. Delete the Kiwee Toolbar directory.
    9. Delete the Webshots directory. Be careful to not confuse this with the Webshots Data folder containing all your downloaded photos.
    10. Now, please open My Computer again, double click to open the local or C: drive, and double click on Documents and Settings. Now, double click on All Users and then double click on Application Data.
    11. Delete the AGI directory.
    12. Now, go to http://www.webshots.com and reinstall the Webshots Desktop Software from our website: http://www.webshots.com/page/apps?app=desktop

If you have trouble removing the Kiwee toolbar, please call our Customer Support center at XXXXXXXXXXX. We are open Monday through Friday 9 AM to 5 PM EST. "

If you have no problems with it using current Webshots software, it may be that mine was an older version of the software that couldn't handle it--I had not used or updated it in well over a year. Who knows?

Either way, wouldn't touch any of it again with a 10 foot pole!

    My thanks again.
