    Hello again everyone!

Back again, sorry, but I am having difficulty adjusting to this Windows 7!

I am not sure if this comes under W.7, but my question relates to Office 2007.

I typed some text and deleted a part by mistake. I tried to "Undo the delete ", but could not find a way. In Office 2003, there was a drop-down choice including undo, under the Edit tab. The only thing I can find in this version is the little blue anti-clockwise circled arrow beside the Save tab at the top left of the page. It doesn't restore the deleted text!

Does anyone have the answer, please?

(I wish there was a 'dummies' book on W.7 and Office 2007, it certainly applies to me!)

    Thanks for any input,

    Colin

That is the one. Undo. But it only works in the current instant, i.e. not after you have closed Word.

Ctrl+Z is the keyboard shortcut for it.

    It does for me :)

The Undo arrow works in sequence starting with the last action you performed. So if you deleted some text and then type some more the first action is to remove what you have just typed - a second click on the arrow restores the text you deleted.

    Arie,

OK! If you say so! I will 'play' some more with it. It just seems to delete more when I click on it.
I'll come back and tell you if I am not finally successful!!

    Thanks for your input!

    Undo delete

    PeteC,

Thanks for the explanation - that is it! Thanks to you and Arie.
I just 'played' some more with it and suddenly a clockwise arrow appeared and I "found" an arrow shaped tab which dropped down a choice list containing undo etc. (I'm sure it wasn't there before - or maybe........!!)

    Grateful for both inputs

    Colin :)
