i create a post in malware section and there is no trace on any infection in my pc. this is the link http://www.windowsbbs.com/malware-virus-removal/90229-resolved-frequent-freeze-not-responding-w-win7.html

Well, it started with a frequent freeze and lag every 2-3 min and all my tabs "IE, my computer, libraries" will come out the word "NOT RESPONDING" and after a minute it will work nicely and then the freeze come again.

After i use TFC to clean up all files, the pc when a little smoother, but the lag and freeze is still exist when using IE or Google Crome (& my computer). Just not that frequent as 2-3 mins... probably like... when i click on something and it just go freeze for a minute.

anyone experience this before? Previously there is no problem with my pc... it just started on January and after few format i still get the same result.

    PLease advise, thank you...

A couple of questions. Are you using a wireless keyboard and mouse?

r.leale : nope... G1 logitech mouse keyboard. and the freeze is pc.. not from keyboard nor mouse >.<

Dennis : nope... does that help? will try when i reach home in 4 hours time.

ok, this is the strange part i find out yesterday.
EVERYTIME After i use TFC (Temp File Cleaner), the pc will go very smooth and lag free, just like how my pc perform all the time previously.
But once i use Google Crome or IE8, the lag and freeze comes back. this is very strange.

Try hitting Ctrl+Alt+Del and bring up the Task Manager... click on the 'Processes' tab and at the bottom click "Show processes from all users "... then scroll through there and watch under the 'CPU' column for a process to be taking up over 50. Let us know what process is if you find it.

PeteC, i did not use crome already after format.

btw... i found out something, will my BIOS related to this? do i need to update to latest? But previously i never encounter such a thing even thou i did not update it -.-

In other words only 1 - 4% of the CPU is being used - System Idle is the 'amount' of CPU which is not being used
No problem there - I have 31% of 6 Gb in use with only Outlook & the BBS open.
Unlikely, but you can check for the latest update at the mobo maker's web site. If there is a newer BIOS look carefully at what it offers in terms of improvement over the existing and only update if these are relevant to your problem. Otherwise leave well alone.

As a matter of course I would check your hard drive with the manufacturer's disk diagnostic software - DOS vrsion bootCD ....

A further thought - after formatting and reinstalling Win 7 did you load the chipset (motherboard) drivers?

Also, when you pulled those specs off your Task Manager, were the lags occurring?? If they weren't and the computer was running fine, then those readings you gave would be for normal use.
So just verify for us that you pulled all of those readings off your Task Manager WHILE the computer was lagging.

I'm not a BIOS person, but what I understand is the BIOS is used for how the communication between hardware and CPU is achieved... is that right Pete?? So if you are having lagging issues only when on IE now, if it was in fact a BIOS error, you would want to make sure your drivers for your Network card are up to date as well. If using the motherboards built-in port, then grab drivers off the motherboards website.
So, along with checking BIOS versions, make sure you have the most up-to-date drivers for all of your hardware as well.

EDIT: Sorry Pete, I was typing this when you posted your last comment!! Didn't mean to re-state your post

thanks for the reply both of you, appreciate it.

Seventh - well, there is no strange reading on Task Manager when it lags. And i do alot explaining over a link i post in 1st post. Maybe u can try to have a look? Broni check over all the dds, hijack and found out nothing in my pc. PS: it lag's/freeze's anytime. Not IE only. everything! (but not included the mouse[cursor] -.-)
and for your info, i use this pc 3 months with no problem and suddenly all this lag comes.

And btw, as i check on the Task Manager, when i click on a link in IE, the lag and freeze occur when the SystemIdleProcess is 99. After 5 second the figure start moving, then the lag or freeze is gone. It happen most of the time when i open up application, click on a link(mostly every click i do in browser)
    -.-

    Pete - http://www.windowsbbs.com/other-software/90230-westerndigital-dlg117-data-lifeguard-diagnostic-not-win7.html
this is the post i made for the Hard Drive. I tried to boot with DOS and i get this error (DRQ Timeout, Error/Status Code : 0135)
i check up this code and it explain cable not proper. It only have 2 cable and i try out with everything i could, and still the same error -.-

for the mobo, i did not update after installing win7. but yesterday i just install up all the drivers in msi webpage. (audio, lan, intel P55)
[but i try to install the RAID/ICHE thing and i fail, it says my pc don't have the requirement] (and i don't know anything bout the RAID or ICHE :p)
and the condition is still same... spike/lag/freeze when i click on something.

And my BIOS is 1.4. There is 1.5 and 1.6 available on the web.
here is the link to my msi mobo driver : http://www.msi.com/index.php?func=downloaddetail&type=driver&maincat_no=1&prod_no=1844

should i go on with BIOS or try harder on hard disk?

You're welcome - still surprised that the hard disk diagnostice would not run, but at least you now have your solution to the lag, etc :)

Pete, i plug my SATA into sata 8 (jcm322).
When i plug into SATA 1 (p55) and run, the error never occur but license error pop up. I think its due to new sata port and haven't install the driver yet.
But wat i heard from my friend, sata 8 & 7 are more faster.
strange.... need to learn more about P55 board now >.<

seventh, yea... glad we figure it out. i hope it won't reoccur, heard my friend say that WD last year production batch alot faulty harddisk for caviar blue >.<
