May be my imagination or greed for speed, but it seems CCleaner is working more slowly, the Cleaner module is the only one I use-- than once?

Everything else in this system is going at normal warpspeed, so I know it's not the system.

    Has anyone else noticed this?

Wow! Really? I will get this right now! By the way, I really adore Cleanup! I think it's fabulous. Also Find Junk Files....came way back in a free suite with Find Dead Links, Find Dead zip comments.

Now, I think, he's charging for it....cause I tried to hook friends & even some clients up with it and two said now it costs money.

Let me go get this now!

    Thanks, Broni!!:D

No, thank YOU!!! OMG this is the most wicked warpspeed thing I evah saw! Terrifying, even!

Then it asked me to reboot. I gotta recover from this now.

Only criticism....the little gray garbage can. Very depressing icon.

    Otherwise, I LUV THIS THING!!!!!:D

    THANK You!

PS Everyone should get this immediately.

    Hi, again,

Two more criticisms of this supersonic app, if I may, and, at the risk of sounding like an ingrate, given how special this thing is:

    1) I like to see which files the app has chosen for deletion on scan. I think that is ormal and gives important info. this app takes under a second to scan and does not share that info.

    Unless I missed that.

    2) the apps within this genre....can obviously only delete files not in use at the time of the scan. Find Junk Files especially, lets you delete what it finds and is not in use and then lists those it finds which you then choose to delete on next reboot.

I think this is normal. The supersonic app....does not explain this and kinda pushes you into the reboot to get rid of the files in use at the time of the scan. Yes, you can choose "no."

But the way this is engineered, and given our history with usually choosing yes to get it over with..... while rebooting is very fast, is is also sometimes not convenient at that moment.

Am I way picky? Did our last President have the IQ of a raisin?

PS, I think this thread belongs in "Other Software" and not "General Security. "

Should I move it? Can I move it? I think I can't, right?

My Ccleaner has worked slower then normal lately. I see mine slows down starting at about the 49% on.

I looked at TFC and seems like a good choice, but it doesn't do a lot of things Ccleaner does that I like.

    Chris.

RIGHT? Each new build is slower than the one before! I did not think I was imagining this.:(

But Chris, get the one Broni offered above...and do not waste time, use the link on HIS, Broni's PAGE Broni linked us to.

and Chris, when U say looked at, did you actually get it? Broni said it is MORe THOROUGH than CC

ALSO, the reg cleaner module in CC not so hot. Not to mention Team People here all say to use none.

You can easily deal with your start menu in other, infinite ways. Including withion yr OS. I only used the cleaner module in CC.

I also recommend Windows Cleanup! Has the exclamation point on board, that was not my addition.
OK wait....just saw you live where I do. Think maybe this is just a local problem?;)

Use the TFC with caution !!

It also removes temp files that are part of active running Utilities and monitors and can knock them out giving you a headache and needing to trouble shoot the errors and repair or re-install these programs.

However, might be OK on simple user system structures.

    Stick with CCleaner :D

I'd assume, that nobody uses any cleaning program with anything open, but that program.
Surely, I wouldn't never recommend any program, which would cause any harm to anyone's computer and definitely nothing what I don't use myself.

Helpful post! This is part of what I came to be concerned about as per my post above.

In the past I used first CCleaner, then CleanUp! and when I had time, Find Junk Files (my real favorite and for many reasons). An ad hoc suite, if you will.

It's a Journey, boys & girls: chase data, TEST EVERYTHING FIRST HAND, solicit feedback if you have the option as per right here.... and evolve the right amalgam of apps for the right reasons.

    Hey...

When I say "Open" I do not mean literally, i.e. running such apps with say yr browsers open...or other programs.

What I meant was files in use at the time of the scan. These programs can naturally not delete those "junk files" it determines are that, which are RUNNING,,,NOT OPEN....until the next reboot.

Find Junk Files even spells this out. And also CleanUp! in a less in yr face way, if you check out every entry.

    Again, it's a Journey.

If I had the option...I should get that option, I would upload a screenie of the follow up interface in FJF to illustrate. A pic is worth a thousand words, right?:)

    G'Day "broni ",

Nothing to do with your recommendation reputation, or having open programs, obviously when a User uses any Maintenance or Fix Utility they must be or should be aware that all running programs must be closed before they use them.

I referred to System Utilities that are on the Start Bar right hand side know nowadays as "System Icons" and are part of the "Run" loading.

In the old days we called them TSR (Terminate Stay Resident - programs that were loaded at start-up and therefore Resident on the right side of the Start Bar, but could be Terminated i.e. shut down or closed) programs, same thing, started as party of the "Run" loading at system start-up. The terminology must have been generated by a Military person as they verbalize things back to front.

Some of these are required to run the different applications that a User may of on their system, and running the TFC utility program promptly knocked them out without un-loading them 1st or giving any warning about active TSR programs, and caused 45 minutes worth of re-installation work.

Nothing I could not handle due to my knowledge of what was missing and the pop-up error messages, however the average User would not be so lucky and can stuff up their System using the TFC Utility.

All I can say, I've been using TFC for about a year on different forums, on tens of computers and not a single problem was reported to me.
Surely, when I prescribe TFC, my canned speech says to close all running programs.
Here, I just dropped the idea of using the program.
I assume, nobody is running CCleaner with a bunch of open programs.

I'm curious. What actually happened in your case? What got messed up?

    G'DAy broni,

Running programs only mean any active programs run from the Desktop i.e. like Word, Excel, IE Browser, etc., it does not refer to any TSR's that may be running, which is not regarded in the normal usage of the term "Running Programs!"

CCleaner does not in it's default installed setup and utilization, have this type of issue nor in it's extreme i.e. Advanced option usage.
