I am unable to connect the internet on one of my laptops on my home wireless networks. It worked fine before today. I ran a ipconfig/renew and it came back "unable to contact your DHCP server. The Dhcp shows enabled. The autoconfiguration ip address is deleted by Moderator for your security. I rebooted the modem, server, and all computers. No help. Any ideas?

    luhrch,

Are you running XP and what type, Vista and what type ?

Have you run any spyware and virus programs to see if it is a virus ?

Try re-installing the driver for your wireless card.

I could not locate a wireless driver dvd for my computer. Will I be able to reinstall the wireless card without one?

You should be able to download the driver from the laptop manufacturer's web site.
Yes, although the same driver will be used .....

Device Manager > Network Adaptors - expand and right click on the wireless adaptor > Uninstall. Reboot to allow Windows to redetect and reload the driver.

That did not work. Is there a way to manually change my ip address or is that not the fix either?

Networking is a very grey area for me and I think your thread will be better served in the Networking forum to which I have moved it.

    Try

    1. Uninstall and Reinstall NIC

    2. Powercycle of the Modem

    3. Disconnect Router and connect directly

    4. Stop DHCP Client and DNS Client Services and Restart

    5. Check the Dependencies of DHCP Client Services and compare it with your
    computer

    6. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\ControlSet001\Services\DHCP
In the right pane, double click DependOnService, and then make sure that the
    Data
Value value is Tcpip Afd NetBT.

    7. Try the following command
    ipconfig /flushdns

    8. Check add and remove programs for any web enhancers, internet
optimizers, spyware, spam blocking software, parental controls, etc

    9. Try to disable anti virus
