I have UPHClean-Setup.msi with intent to solve a problem with erratic boot performance in XP Home. Wen I attempt to run it, I get the message:

"Windows cannot access the specified device, path or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item. "

I am the administrator (the only user) of a stand-alone PC.
What permissions do I not have?
    Why will Setup not run?

    Thanks

This could be due to a flag placed on the file as a result of being moved from another computer or network.

Right click on the executable, choose Properties and on the General tab check the Unblock button.

Some anti virus applications can prevent you from opening "potentially dangerous" files from a remote location. You might try to temporarily disable your anti virus application and see if you can access the file.

Also, where do you have the file saved?

That fixed it. Apparently Kaspersky Internet Security 2010 can get a little overenthusiastic some times. :p

    Thanks
