    What, no 2.0 ;)

I suppose I'll have to go with 3.1 then... By the way I still have a full set of 5.25" floppies if anyone is interested :D

    Edit:

Seriously the first version I used was Windows for Workgroups (3.11) but I have used earlier versions since.

Same here, 3.0, in a BSR 386SX/16. After awhile I wanted to increase the RAM but it was $50 for each 1-meg chip. I couldn't afford it.

Although I played around a bit with 3.1, my first computer had Windows 95.

Replaced with 4.01 though I'm not sure if that was ever released in the states.

If we start talking about DOS the earliest I recall using regulary was 3.3 but I could go back further to CP/M days

I feel old now, :( thanks Arie. ;)

I started with MS Dos too, although I don't recall which version. My first Windows was 3.11.

Ahh, the original dual processor computer (6510/Z80) or was it. My first CP/M system was the BBC model B (6502) with torch (Z80a) addon ;)

I remember using DOS but the first time I ever used windows was Win 98. My first computer had 3.1 on it but I had it replaced with Win 95.

First computer I worked on was a big blue box with a high speed card punch. The operating system was a big peg board with individual wires you plugged in to direct the bits to the proper registrator. The first Windows was 3.11.

I started personal computing when Commodore introduced the Amiga 500 in 1987, although I had been using my company's computers (which used a proprietary OS) for ten years before that.

In 1997 I bought my first PC, which came with Win95 installed. Friends were still using PCs with Win3.1, so I quickly became familiar with that OS, as well.

Started with Apple DOS and Apple ProDOS. Got a job that was using PCs, so started with DOS 3.3 (and on to 4.0 and other versions). Windows 386 was the first version of Windows I had used.

Well, yeah, if we're going to get into DOS - I guess DOS 2.0. Up until XP, I could still use DOS commands to fix problems (and I still have Kris Jamsa's excellent guide to DOS 5 on my bookshelf), but I don't know how much of that would still work today. And before that, of course, the Sinclair... :)

And before that, the punch cards rattling through a huge IBM sorter. How far back do we wanna go, guys?

I too had a Sinclair but I bought it after I picked up a TI 99/4A from JC Pennys, when I rotated back to the US in '83. I bought my first 8086 in '85, but I was using DOS on it. Man, I was in fat city when I saved up and bought a couple 32mb hard drives for it. )))
