System "Windows XP Service Pack 2 "

I have several "obsolete" .. "Network Places" that are no longer useful or valid. They have file-sharing "name designations" of "users" no longer "sharing" my home-router LAN.

Question: How can I safely RENAME .. or COMPLETELY REMOVE them ???

I manually DELETED a couple of them .. but when I started set-up NEW "places" with new "user identities" .. the Set-Up Wizard reported ...
    "Can not set-up due to ERRORS" ...... S-o-o-o .... ????????????

The ERROR message suggested doing the set-up **MANUALLY**.
But I have no idea what THAT MEANS !!!

How did you do that? Maybe some more information could help.

Maybe delete all the "places" and remake those that you want?
