Hi everybody...I know I've done this on XP Pro before, and found pretty much the same thing in Vista Ultimate under

Control Panel ---> Administrative Tools ---> Computer Management ---> Disk Management

All I want to do is run a mirror - NOT the Complete PC backup - where I can copy from the ENTIRE content (including MBR, setting, programs, files, etc.) to an empty bigger one (my new 250GB 7200rpm baby ;) )... Then I just want to swap out the hard drives, and use my current one (160GB 5400rpm) as a backup drive.

I would also like to update the old drive every 1-2 months using this procedure.

If XP Pro can do this, Vista Ultimate (64-bit just FYI) must have the ability, too, I would think (hope!??). I had a problem with this before, and it was a little thing I was overlooking. GRRRR...I must have clicked on every menu item that came close to what I need 10 times. Please help.

    Thank you! :)

XP does Not have the ability built in to make an Image - but Vista Ultimate does. I don't have a Vista machine in front of me but if you'll look in the help file I "m sure you'll find the needed info.
