Resolved Help selecting new system Lenovo or HP Compaq

I have purchased second hand, two systems that are about identical in specs, and have the same amount (Nov 2011) of Factory Warranty remaining. Both are core 2 CPU's. The operating system can be either Win XP or Vista, I have recovery disks for both OS for each machine. My choice probably will be Win XP due to legacy software. Both have SATA connections.
Given the above can anyone tell me which might be the best to keep to replace a older machine? Please note I have and can add RAM and bigger Hard Drives

You haven't given any indication of system specifications so I'll assume like the warranty they are also similar(EDIT: My apologies, assumption not required).

Which one are you most comfortable with?

 

I am comfortable with either one. I thought someone may have had a good or bad expierence with either that they would like to share. May be easier to keep both?? GBG

 

Both are decent brands so take your pick

I've used the same excuse with my missus (wife) a few times too
