I have an AMD phenom x4 with 2 WD raptor SATA HDs in raid with 8gig RAM. I am preparing to install xp pro x64.

    1. Do I have to install the drivers for x64 during the installation or can wait after it? and what drivers?

    2. Is there anything else I need to know specifically to x64?

    Thanks.

Before proceeding you need to confirm and or download all needed drivers:
    Chipset
    Video Card
    Sound Card
    Network Adaptor

If you can't find the above - you might not end up with a working machine.

Drivers for XP x64 are likely to be rarer than hen's teeth - why not go straight to 7 x64 - here. Just be aware that 7 x64 will only load signed drivers.

Thanks. I just found out that my rig comes preinstalled so I don't have to worry about it at the moment. But I do have another question:

I ordered 2 WD raptor Sata 10,000 rpm 150gig in raid but I got AMD 2+0 stripe/raid SCSI 300 gig. I don't know what to make of it?

    What is the question?
Have a feeling it'll help if you post the make and model number of your mobo.
