When I hit the "Reload current page" button it stalls my connection and then brings me to Ask.com and shows the results of the page I am reloading.

Any ideas on why this happens?

By the way, I use Firefox 3.0.10.

    Thank you.

    Most likely, Ask issue...

Close Firefox. Go Start>All Programs>Mozilla Firefox, click on Mozilla Firefox (safe mode). Same thing?

As Broni implied it may be an add-on, or setting problem. I don't use Ask, nor use any sdd-on tied to Ask, and have no problem clicking the reload button.

I have tried that now and still end up on Ask.com... thanks for your suggestion, broni.

I've never known about Ask nor used it until this incident. Thanks for your input also, Westside.

    Puzzling....

Is Ask toolbar listed in Add\Remove ( it may be listed as AskDis).
    Is it XP, or Vista.
I'm asking, because I'd like to see prefs.js file.

This is not HJT forum, so I don't want you to post HijackThis log in your thread, but attach it to your reply.
    Download HijackThis:
    http://www.trendsecure.com/portal/en-US/tools/security_tools/hijackthis/download
by clicking on Download HijackThis Installer
    Install, and run it.
    Attach the log.

It doesn't appear in the Add/Remove program list. I use XP. I found the security-prefs.js file and the prefs.js file, but the latter is basically empty. Should I paste what it says in my security-prefs.js here, or...?

I did download and have the HijackThis log file, but it appears that I cannot attach any files with this reply? I think I have to be a contributing member?

    Thanks again.

I believe, security-prefs.js is some Netscape leftover.
Open prefs.js in Notepad, and paste whatever is there.

I'm sorry, I keep forgetting about this board settings.
    Upload the file here: http://www.filedropper.com/
    Post download link.

I believe that the problem has ceased now, at least for the last few days anyway. So, I guess there is no point in pasting anything here anymore? I do appreciate your help, broni. Thanks!
