HP dc5750 XP-PRO-SP3 with this mainboard:

    Mainboard
    Platform Compliance : AMD LIVE!
    Manufacturer : Hewlett-Packard
    Multi-Processor (MP) Support : No
    Model : 0A64h
    Serial Number : 2UA9020FRL

Shows 4 sockets for RAM (8gb max in X64, 4 GB max in X32) and I have a 1GB DIMM in each slot, in pairs, yet my Systems page shows only 3GB as recognized.

I'm a bit... ahhhh... confused on this.

SiSoftSandra mainboard module printout at link (to avoid cluttering up an otherwise-lovely BBS) as a WORD doc. If you need more information, just let me know.

    I'm wondering if it's something I'M doing???

    Thanks, Evan.

Farq! That wasn't what I wanted to hear.

Well, guess I'll live with it. It was only another 30 bucks, anyhow.

Your Welcome. IMO its not worth moving to a 64-bit OS just so your computer recognizes all 4 GB of your RAM. Plus you will have to deal with driver and software compatibility issues with a 64-bit system.

Oh, GAWD, no! I'm having enuf fun trying to stay afloat with XP without having to deal with Vista in either 32 or 64 bit...

Still, I remember when XP first raised it's head and everyone bitched about the dearth of drivers and accesories.... that got solved rather quickly and I've no doubt that the "softies" will (as soon as Redmond makes up it's mind where to go) be scribbling away at their keyboards casting line after line of code over the gunwales in hopes of catching an application...

Until then... I have my hammer and axe.
