Just installed Thunderbird on a new computer in a Pop 3 setup and it insists on downloading all the emails stored on the server. How do I stop it from doing this. I have another account that I access with Outlook Express on Gmail and it has an option to stop such activities.
Possibly there is a setting I haven't found yet?
    Thanks,
    Rob

    Rob,

High Light your Mail Account Name and Click on "View Settings for this Account "

At the next window, High Light "Server Settings" which gets you the window shown on the screen snapshot at this link:..... http://www.raysmyth.net/tb-setup.jpg

Follow the instruction on the snapshot image as indicated.

Options available on the window shown in the screen snapshot should allow you to control mail downloads as desired.

If not ask again and Good Luck -- Ray
