I am about to buy everything for my new build. I would like to chose the Thermaltake Tsunami Dream case or maybe the Thermaltake Soprano DX case. They have the same dimensions.
I will be fitting the ASUS P6T Deluxe motherboard and the Intel i7 920 processor and a Corsair 850W PSU with 6 Gb of DDR3 memory.
I have just read an article where the longer motherboards can touch or in some cases are longer than the hard drive cage positon on the Soprano DX.
This is the link to this:
    http://www.hwupgrade.com/articles/c...ke-soprano-dx-nothing-is-what-it-seems_5.html
Has anyone used either of these cases with an ATI RADEON 4870, I would like to fit in my build?
Or should I be looking at a bigger case? I am also not sure which CPU cooler to use. I wanted to fit a Noctua, especially made for the 1366 socket but Thermaltake tell me its too long to fit these cases.
Any comments would be welcomed. Thank you.

Whic mid tower case to chose?

I am considering the Silverstone Fortress FT01S, Silver with side window. I like the way they tell you on their website that this case will take up to 12 inch graphic cards.
I have found all the hgh end and even medium priced cases have positioned the PSU at the bottom of the case now. I would welcome any views on this and also if anyone is using the above case and what they think of it.
I think the idea of a PSU sucking in air through a big filter in the bottom of the case would overheat it.
Anyone got any other mid tower cases with a side window, good ventilation and tool free installation for the drives and one that will take a single or double ATI 4870 graphics card? I don't mind paying more if it is good. Thank you.

You may not get much feedback on specific hardware @ WindowsBBS, as this site is more geared toward (Microsoft) software then hardware. Specific hardware questions are probably better addressed at the specific 'hardware' forums.

Yes, your questions are very specific. If some of us have the cases you refer to, they may not have had any of the problems you are concerned about.

If I am trying to decide between different hardware items, I put the model number/s into a websearch, along with the term review. There are websites that test them and may compare them with others.

    Which case to use?

Thank you Mattman and Arie for your replies. It is very specific questions and I didn't realise you are mainly a software problem site. Sorry about that.
I have read reviews on all the cases and there are quite a lot of review sites. There is also Youtube videos on most of the cases which are very handy.
I have got my search down to 2 cases now; the Hyper Osiris or the Silverstone FT01 Fortress. The Fortress has three slow running 180mm fans and the Hyper has three 120mm fast running fans.
    Anyway thanks again.
    Regards onefinger :)

Seems like you are doing some excellent research. A good case will see you through a lot of hardware upgrades.

Any case I buy will have:

    1. Support for multiple large (120mm or larger) case fans - preferably with support to mount at least one fan in front drawing cool air in, and one in back (not counting the PSU) exhausting hot air out.
    2. Removable drive bays or slides
    3. Rolled edges on the sheet metal to keep my blood off the electronics
    4. Easy access/removal of side panel
    5. Washable, removable air filter. (absolute MUST!!!)

I like the Antecs and the Sonata is very nice.

Oh, a fancy facade and flashing lights do nothing for performance, increase heat, consume power, and do nothing for performance - worth repeating. A case should sit discreetly, and QUIETLY, out of the way, and not draw attention away from the monitor.

Absolutely, but try to tell the gamer kiddies that :D - remember the 'go faster' tape you could buy for cars?
Agreed - my desktop has been housed in one of those through at least 3 builds.
