Resolved Error and reboots.

    Not sure where to post this as it could be hardware or software. I am getting a stop error of 0x00000024 constantly with a reboot. Now to eliminate a couple of suggestions you might have, this is the 5th HDD I have installed my OS on, Windows XP Home, and have reinstalled it a couple of times for each drive. I have checked for Virus's and worms, malware, etc. Everything is clean, I have run chkdsk /f /r and it comes up clean. Help. :confused::mad:

    What about RAM ? Did you check it/replace it ?

    Ran 2 different programs, tested okay.

    No I have not done all of that to the memory but will give it a try.


    BTW, This is what my system is and has been for 5 years.
    Mobo = Abit NF7-S v2.0
    CPU= AMD 2600+ mobile
    Video= SAPPHIRE ATI RADEON 9600 Video Card, 256MB DDR
    HD= Maxtor 80G 133 ATA (Now a WD)
    Memory=Kingston HyperX Series Dual Kits 184 Pin (1024MBx2) DDR PC-3200, Plus, Kingston HyperX Series Single 184 Pin 512MB DDR PC-3200 for a total of 2.5gig
    CD-RW= Liteon CDRW 52x32x52
    DVD RW= NEC 16 DL 3520A
    Case= ANTEC Performance Plus Case Model "PLUS1080AMG "with Corsair 650 Watt. PSU is almost new.
    CPU Fan=Vantec 92mm Tornado
    Heat Sink= Thermalright SLK900
    Monitor= Samsung T220
    Keyboard= Microsoft Ergonomic
    Scanner= Canon Canoscan 4400F
    Printer= Epson Stylus PHOTO R260

    Yup, and even put new paste on CPU. Running pretty cool.

    Okay, took out the half gig of ram and have had no more reboots or errors. It has been over 3 days now and running good.
