Hey guys, I'm not sure if this is the correct place to post this so move it if I'm wrong..

I recently had to reformat my laptop because of my laptop not booting to the login screen after the windows logo appears. I recently installed windows seven, and everything was going fine until I reliezed:

    - At startup [at my desktop], it would ALWAYS freeze for 5 minutes for 'no apparent' reason, this always happens when I login into my account on my windows

    - I get random blue screen crashes in around 1 hour, and I can't really record them because they appear for 5 seconds and my whole laptop reboots.

    - When I first installed windows seven, I had no problems downloading files from the net on the first hour I installed things, then after it would download but the download would just FREEZE at the part of "Starting download" on firefox.

    - My NOD32 keeps 'telling' me to install windows update, but I went to system settings and can't...

    - My laptop won't standby or hibernate...tried power options but nothing.. even tried the 'shut down button' but theres 'no button' that can activate standby

I've scanned my computer with Nod32, CCleaner but nothing. I also would mention that I don't have a audio driver, graphics card etc. according to dxdiag.

Now reading from past archives about the random blue screen crash on these forums, I can't exactly do a dump log cause I can't download ANYTHING.....

Anyways, If you guys can help with anything please do, cause I do not know whats wrong!

PS: I have found a website to download the original drivers for my compaq presario v4000, but at the HP website they don't have a category for windows seven....only home edition, vista, pro.

Well, you do know that Windows 7 is a beta right?

I'd suggest returning to Vista for now.

The Vista drivers will work with Seven, I haven't used Vista yet (Took Me ages to upgrade to XP) but I have had to search for drivers & the Vista ones work!?

    Regards Jac

PS: As Arie said this is a beta, it is not the full working version! Dual Boot Windows Seven and avoid the disappiontment!! ( I have 2 dedicated drives, 1 runs Xp & the other runs W7, (XP has 3 partitions which I can access from W7)) I am now thinking of upgrading to Vista, it's ashame I didn't do it long ago!
