The page I'm trying to open is http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=disco79&view=videos&start=300. It opens fine in IE6, but not Firefox. I was at this page in Firefox a few days ago, and it was working, but yesterday and today it just will not open. The tab text continuously says "Loading..." but nothing ever happens (at least 1/2 hour now). I've cleared the caches in Firefox and commented out www.youtube.com in my Hosts file, but no difference. The same also happened in FF 3.0.6 before I upgraded last evening. Any suggestions? Thanks!

There is not much that I can do until I get back my good computer. I am limited by the fact I am using Win98SE and Firefox2.0.0.20, but I can tell that the page may have been written for IE. When I use the Firefox mode, I get very quickly to the page where the videos are shown. However, when I select them, all I see is the title. Using the IE Tab, when I select the video, I get this message:

    Thanks for your reply, Westside.
My fault for not alerting you, all these entries are audio only, with just a static video "shell" around them. I'm interested in the audio only.

Additional info: I went to http://www.windowsbbs.com/firefox-t...-firefox-wont-open-but-explorer-will-why.html (picked this up from "Similar Threads" at the bottom of the windowsbbs.com page), and tried entering this IP address in the address bar: 208.65.153.238, which is YouTube's main address, and it also gives me the constant "Loading..." message, whereas IE6 opens it immediately at the YouTube home page. Does this info add anything to the pot?

Just to let you know, there's no problems here using FF 3.0.7 & XP Pro SP3.

    Solved!:D

    I followed these instructions:

Error loading websites - MozillaZine Knowledge Base
    http://kb.mozillazine.org/Error_loading_websites#Only_Mozilla_applications_are_having_problems

Immediately after installing this add-on and reloading Firefox, the website worked!!!

Curiosity question: Does anyone have an idea why I could get to the YouTube website normally, using Firefox, a few days ago, and now have to spoof my way in?

No Idea, as I posted previously your link works fine for me and I am not using a spoofing agent.

No problems at all (also without spoofing agents) using Gecko/20090323 Firefox (Minefield)/3.6a1pre (.NET CLR 3.5.30729)

    Final update:

After all this time it's impossible to tell, but to put this thread to rest I'm going to guess that -- as the original YouTube site message suggested -- JavaScript was turned off (even though as I said above, "I have enabled the entire page in NoScript, I have the latest Flash players installed, and I was at this page and using it very well just a few days ago... . ") and that alone prevented the video from playing. There's just no other logical explanation.

Thanks to all for your comments and suggestions.

I missed the continuation of this thread. I have gotten back my XP computer, several months ago. I am using Firefox3.0.14, and have no problem (no spoofing). The sound is, actually, excellent, for the period.
A guess, on my part is that the mere presence of No Script may create problem. Try to disable No Script, or start Firefox in safe mode (to disable all addons).

No problems here. Using the latest Firefox I get into the link and play lists no trouble. I'm afraid my style of music is Frank Sinatra. Shirley Bassey, Michael Buble etc. Neil.:D
