Webpages Opening very slow or only 90%

My first post -

This is happening on both my laptop (wireless connection) and desktop Dell. DSL connection

Problems started 2 days ago-

Anytime I open a website that has lots of pictures or graphics it takes 4-5 minutes to fully open VS it use to open in a matter of seconds. In fact its usually opening up all the way except the pictures and all you can see is the little red x where the picture is suppose to be. And trying to click around a website ---its just isnt happening-


I have DSL connection - Did a speed test - which was fine both ways 1800/475

Norton Internet Security was ok

Rebooted everything - including the router for the DSL

The fact that its happening to both my computers has me puzzled since the speed test was ok-

Also sometimes when I click on an item - it jusnt do anything-Even though it says "done" on ther bottom of the page

Right now I clicked to delete 5 small emails from yahoo mail - Nothing happens

Are you using Internet Explorer?

Does it not load all the page (90%), when there are red X's?

Pictures are not displayed on Web sites in Internet Explorer

Do you have your Windows Updates?

Check for updates if you run Sun Java.
Red X image displayed where the applet should be, applets won't run


Go to the Adobe website and get the latest FlashPlayer (you may as well get Shockwave Player as well).

If IE, what version? You shouldn't have to, but if you are stuck, consider downloading the same version from MS and installing it "over the top" of the current version. If you are using version 6, consider going to version 7.

tried - and tried-no luck

I just tried all the stuff- no difference- Turned off Norton, the view pictures is checked...

Ill try re loading IE 7 - which is what I have-

I have all my updates

The x shows up for each picture on the page---I try to right click it and retry it- no luck

Hey on a side note -we were in Sydney a few weeks ago---and Kangaroo Island and Adelaide---It was great - a bit hot ---

Gotta get some sleep -I'll take a go at it Saturday (mine)

 

Hav u checked how full your disks are... is Norton doin backups at a great rate of knots and the HD was nearly full..Ive had this happen to me .. altho not thru Norton... and the computer spat the dummy... was like watching grass grow... anyway just a thought...

While I await your response, please manually run LiveUpdate from within Norton Internet Security and then run a "Full System Scan" to check for infections that may be causing the problem you are having.
