[Solved] mesages in outbox wont send and cannot delete

In Outlook 2003 I am getting the following message when attempting to delete two messages (with attachments)

"The Item Could not be deleted. It was either moved or already deleted, or access was denied. "

I have searched for and tried half a dozen solutions without success.

Tried in safemode, tried the MS solution, tried disabling send receive on startup then closing Outlook and ending the process before reopening it and a couple of others as well.

Can anyone give me any thoughts?

    Thanks

    Found the answer
found another post in a search that suggested taking OL offline and deleting them after restarting OL. I did an end task of OL and Word to make sure they were not running and it worked without a hitch
