    Hello all,
I have a system with Windows Vista on it, and it is no longer bootable. I can attach the hard drive to another computer, but what steps do I need to do to back up (and later restore) the Windows Mail files? I have done this with Outlook and Outlook Express, but the Windows Mail folder system appears to be different.

    Thanks for any advice.

Make sure Windows mail is closed, not running.

Copy the CONTENTS of each mail folder into the mail folders in the new comp, eg ONLY copy the files in each folder:

    Deleted Items
    Drafts
    Inbox
    Junk E-mail
    Outbox
    Sent Items

You DO NOT need to copy the winmail.fol files, these will be automatically recreated when Windows Mail is opened.
