    Hi

I get these two errors every morning:

    Log Name: Application
    Source: VSS
    Date: 2009-01-02 08:18:29
    Event ID: 8193
    Task Category: None
    Level: Error
    Keywords: Classic
    User: N/A
    Computer: zpp
    Description:
Volume Shadow Copy Service error: Unexpected error calling routine CoCreateInstance. hr = 0x80040154.

    <SNIP>

Is this anything to be worried about?

Can't help you Vista wise, but CODE tags are not necessary here and make reading more difficult :)

Got the same errors today. Though i run a scheduled backup 08:15 every morning so i think it can have something to do with that.

I'll change it until tomorrow and see.

Got the same errors again, but later this time and at the same time as i run my backup. So i guess it's the cause.

Are you using Veritas software for your backup? If yes, see Veritas Support Document ID: 272814

Another note from a newsgroup post: "the COM+ subsystem is not correctly installed on your machine. This causes failures in VSS ".

Suggests re-running Windows Setup to fix COM+ problem.

Im running Genie-Soft and i contacted their support which gave me following link, http://www.genie-soft.com/asp/community/KnowledgeArticle.asp?KBID=178

So i have tested to upgrade version and tried the .bat-file they suggested. So i'll see tomorrow whats happens.

I'd suggest working with the backup software vendor to get this fixed, or contacting Microsoft support.
