ie8b2 version & uninstall?

Hi, 1st, the pc this is on is OLD (500 MHz cpu) & that may be part of problem. But the ques. is: is the latest available ie8b2 the 6.0.0.1 18241? Because of constant crashing, I simply downloaded & installed over the aug08 version (I think it was also 18241) the ie8b2 again. But the MS website lists 16sept as the latest version, not late aug. a) should I uninstall the ie8b2 1st? and b) do I go to the add/remove cp & uncheck ie, will that uninstall? Or is there a better way to uninstall (note: cclean.exe doesn't list windows apps in its uninstaller). c) it was "rumored" that nov would be release date for final ie8. Any ideas when it will actually be here? thanks.
