funny noises,switches of suddenly on my xp

    hi

    my xp is giving trouble some noises are frequently frm my cpu seems like the fan but it s loud and my comp also suddenly switches off and there many applications that i c running in the process column of task manager how do i find out they are and which one s to stop cause my comp is very slow

    Funny noises and random shut downs could be a failing power supply unit. You nned to open the case and figure out here the sound is coming from.

    Sounds more like a hardware problem than a software one to me, probably best posted in the hardware forum first but at a guess I'd say overheating is an issue.
