    Hi,

I am not sure that this is the correct forum. But here goes.

My hubby is working on designing a web page. He created an text file in notepad and saved it as an HTML file. His understanding is that the HTML file should open in any browser. He has no problem opening it in our default browser, Firefox, but can't get it to open in IE. When he opens IE and goes to file, open, the file opens but in FF. If he double-clocks the HTML file, it also opens in FF.

Can anyone help him to get this to open in IE???

    Laptop runs Vista and IE7.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

    Hi Ann'

This has been reported a few times now, usually it's because FF is set as the default browser. Can you provide the source code of the file and perhaps shed some light as to why this happens?

Thanks for your reply. Would changing the default browser to IE solve this?

I would have to ask my husband about the source code. I do not know what that is.

As far as providing some light as to why this happens, that is why I asked my question, in the hopes that someone here could help him. This is the first time he has designed a web page and he is still learning.

    TIA.

Most likely it would, but given the latest security issues you may wish to think strongly about doing so, at least until MS have a working solution.

It's the actual webpage but don't worry about it, the HTML (source) code is unlikely to be the cause, I was just curious.
