I recently upgraded after being annoyed for a month to update to SP3. I had a couple of strange things that happened after update. My floppy drive and all the flash card slots disappeared, and my sound stopped working. Windows seems to be working fine except for the few hardware items I mentioned. Do you have any answer to help me?

    Hi OLDSALTY,

Without searching for explicit instructions, I expect you can uninstall SP3.

Go to your system manufacturer's website (you don't have your system specified) and get any updated drivers or (major) software updates for your system.

Uninstall, update, then reinstall, it is up to you. You can try updating first.

BIOS...I would leave a BIOS update as a last resort.

This is taking a lot longer than I expected still working on it. I sure hope it works.

Good on you OLDSALTY. It should result in a efficient machine.

Nothing ever seems to be "quick" with these sorts of things, do they? :)

No they do not. After about 45 minutes last night my wife pulled me away from the computer. Maybe to night?
