    Hi there,

I passed to FF3 and I do not want to have the favicon displayed.

    I just:

    1) switched browser.chrome.favicons to false, and
    2) switched browser.chrome.site_icons to false too.

No way. It worked fine of FF2 but apparently not on FF3..

    Can someone help me?

    Thanks in advance for that!

    Cheers, Eric.

In your FF profile > delete the file places.sqlite > restart FF & it will auto recreate that file, but empty. You still see them after editing the javascript, but they are cached/downloaded until clear that file.

Ok, I deleted places.sqlite from my profile, and - indeed - the favicons now disapeared! However, I cannot add new or delete old (i.e., modify) my bookmarks anymore!

I have reinstalled my old places.sqlite in place of the new one that was created. But the problem remained the same. I had to delete and reinstall FF3 from scrach..! (fortunately, I previously saved my bookmarks somewhere else!).

Any help on this is welcomed!

    Cheers, Eric.

I never pay any attention to favicons. Is there an advantage in not showing them?

No, it is just a matter of taste. I usually find them ugly.. And I do not think there are that useful..
