When you install this critical patch:
Microsoft Security Bulletin MS08-067 "“ Critical
Vulnerability in Server Service Could Allow Remote Code Execution (958644)
you must reboot and the binaries are installed on the reboot. Comodo firewall comes up first and prevents the patch from finishing its install and the system freezes. I had this happen several times before I figured it out.

My solution: Reboot is Safe Mode. Comodo will not start and the patch can finish its install. Then reboot normally.

Thanks for that heads up RockFox. It's good to know with the expanding user base that COMODO is garnering these days.

FWIW I installed the patch yesterday on 2 boxes running Comodo (XP Pro & Vista) with no freezing issues.

I run my Comodo Firewall in "Safe Mode" which is very restrictive. It always stops an install and asks if it is OK.
