I have FF 3.0.3 installed on my PC and Portable FF 3.0.3 on my USB flash memory stick.

I want the two profiles to be identical - bookmarks, extensions, passwords, cookies, etc. Can I simply copy the profile on my PC to the profile on my flash memory (while both FF's are off)?

Is there any simple way of synching the two profiles?

Maybe there is an easier way, but I'll share the way I update my Flash drive Portable Fx 3.0.3. I copy the following files from the existing Fx 3.0.3 Profile on my Desktop HDD:

    cert8.db
    cookies.sqlite
    key3.db
    permissions.sqlite
    persdict.dat
    places.sqlite
    prefs.js
    search.sqlite
    signons3.txt

I paste the above files in this folder, on the Fx 3.0.3 Flash drive:
    L:\Program Files\FirefoxPortable 3.0.3\FirefoxPortable\Data\profile

    Thanks, Ramona.

Will these files also place all my extensions in the profile, or will I have to download them one by one?

Is there any problem with just copying the PC profile to the flash drive? That way I could use Microsoft's Sync Toy to just update the flash drive whenever I wanted to.

    TonyT,

You are definitely on top of info about Flash drives and portable Firefox. I'm embarrassed to say that as an infrequent user of my Flash drive, I have been transferring private data the "old" way. Thanks for pointing out that it can be done very simply... :)

    xelaw,

I hope I didn't have you chasing your tail for too long!
