    Thomas,

What version of Firefox are you using? Perhaps some preventive maintenance will speed up your browser.

Click on: Tools | Options | Privacy
    Scroll down to: Private Data
Select: Always clear my private data when I close Firefox
    NEXT:
Click on: Settings tab, and select the data you want Firefox to delete each time you close the browser

These selections would be what I suggest:

    Browsing History
    Download History
    Cache

This screen shot shows the IE Tab icon on the bottom toolbar of the browser:

When you click on the Firefox Icon, then it will show the IE icon.

Let us know if you have more questions.

Ramona is there a method to clear the cache in Seamonkey when it unloads.

I looked and couldn't find one

    Thanks, Ray

Not that I know. For this and other useful things I am using the Prefbar, which has a button to delete Cache. I have trained myself to do it regularly. But, personally, I think that it is a creater nuisance to be concerned of the Download History (it was troublesome in Netscape7.x, and should be in Seamonkey.

    Ray,

Unfortunately SeaMonkey hasn't caught up with Firefox in clearing private data on close. Maybe in the future?

I am testing SM2.0a2 nightlies, and although it is using the same add-on manager as FF, one has to clean the Cache the old fashioned way, I am using the Prefbar, and I have programmed myself to clean the Cache manually, using the Prefbar Cache button.
