    Hey everyone,

I'd like to use part of my SanDisk Cruzer, which is indicated as "Enhanced for Windows Vista ReadyBoost ", but I haven't used it in about a year.

I forgot the password, too, so it erased everything I had put on it, which was nothing important anyway.

It also has this U3, which is a joke, and which SanDisk abandoned a while ago anyway. However, the Windows ReadyBoost option doesn't come up anymore. I don't need U3 at all, and would like to allocate 2 or 4GB to Windows to use for ReadyBoost.

Would this even make a difference being that I have 4GB of 667 of DDR2 RAM installed?

I have no other use for the flash drive, so I might as well use it for ReadyBoost.

So does anyone have this drive, because I haven't seen the ReadyBoost option come up anymore, even after it was "erased" after the 5 failed password attempts. It might come back up after I reboot my Thinkpad, but I've got a lot of stuff going on, and can't really reboot for a few more days.

Thanks to everyone in advance! :)

You probably won't notice any difference since you have 4 gigs of ram...But I too have 4 gig of ram and am using a spare flash drive for the heck of it.

Hehe, yea. So do you notice anything at all? I'm getting an SSD this week. I should get plenty of difference with that baby. :D

There is an uninstall tool at Sandisk. Go to Download -> Product Types -> USB Flash Drives.

Thanks Matt...I looked at it again, and I see the U3 stuff is not even installed. It just sits there and asks the user as to whether they want to install it. It takes up so little space, so I'm just going to leave it alone for now. I have over 7GB free of my 8GB Cruzer.

I'm currently using it for Vista ReadyBoost, and I've allocated the maximum amount (4GB) to it. It's funny, but I want to say it's doing something. It does flash constantly, so my laptop IS using it. I wonder what it is that it's using the add'l 4 gigs for. lol...

    Thanks Matt. You're a gentleman and a scholar! :D
