Mike try this and let me know,The problem lies in C:\windows\INF\sysoc.inf . First enable hidden files and folders. After that get into the location C:\windows\INF\sysoc.inf and look for sysoc(Notepad with a Star).Open that,Change the rule in the signature, You will see Signature= "$WindowsNT$ ", It should be Signature = "$Windows NT$" , There is a space between Windows and NT$, Then save it, try to work and let me know, Iam sure this will fix the issue

    Good luck

There is also a good chance that your ieaccess.inf file is missing or badly corrupted. You can get another copy of it from C:\WINDOWS\ServicePackFiles\i386\ieaccess.inf. Copy it to the C:\Windows\inf directory. Allow it to replace the existing one when/if asked.

Yes this worked. Thank You . The file did not look anything like its replacement. The one I got from I 386 was in fairly standard english . The one in the inf folder was gibberish . Thanks again
