I have a web site, but since Aug 20 I get this http 403 error.
I have contacted my host server three times and different departments, but they have not replied. Since I have no computer skills to work out problems with my web site, could someone tell me if the error originate from the script in the web site or would it have something to do with the host server?
    Joe.

Over the last few months we have experienced a number of outages and we are currently in the process of upgrading to new hardware. Our team is working rapidly to restore all accounts. Please be assured that we are working very hard to make HostOnce a great service we can all be proud of. We truly appreciate your patience as we turn this around.

I have been with this host server for many years and this is the first time I did not get a swift reply to my help desk ticket. Another reason is, when I signed up with them, they had unlimited file tranfers and web space at $60.00 a year. That has now changed to fixed file transfers and restricted web space, but the web site owners signing up at that time are protected by the grandfather clause. Thanks for taking the time to look at my post.

As with most computer related services, you get what you pay for.

Well, that's what I wrote before I thought about it, and then I thought of all the exceptions. Great open source and freeware software. Systems at work that we've page a lot of money for that have been a pain in the posterior.

So perhaps a better maxim is that there are plenty of alternatives. If the supplier you are using currently doesn't give you satisfaction, move to another. Which of course is exactly what Arie said originally, and much more succinctly.

Well, in hosting it is true most of the time. One of the larger expenses for budget hosting will be staff costs (for support), so cutting back on service will save money.
