    Hello,

I am currently using Windows Mail with Vista but there are a few things I don't like. I'm looking at Thunderbird as an alternative. Is there a way to migrate all my e-mails to Thunderbird and preserve the directory structure I have?

I've tried using the ImportExportTools Addon, but I couldn't get it to recognize the folders. Do I have to import each folder separately?

    Thank you very much!

    Thank you Tony,

I did read that. That's the tool I am using. It still doesn't address the problem I have. I can import multiple eml files, but from what I've seen, they have to be from the same folder. Am I doing something wrong?

You may have to export from Windows Mail, then import into TB what you exported.

I tried that. The only option to export would be to eml files, and then the import process is the same, and I can't get it to import multiple folders at the same time.

    Am I missing something?

You have to import each folder seperately.

    Thanks Tony,

There's no easier way? It's really inefficient to have to do it folder by folder when you have close to 100 folders! Anyobdy else have any idas?

Are there identities in Windows Mail?
I knew how to deal with OE. Doesn't Window Mail have identities. If so, the entire mail content should be exported. Unfortunately, I don't use Windows Mail, and don't have Vista, so no experience in this area.

Yes - it does not work.

We would have to wait for Mozilla to launch Thunderbird 3.0 & hope that they put the import filter in it.

Otherwise the only option is to import all the folders one by one - yuck.
