Hi All. Hope someone has an answer for me. Here goes:
I have a Compaq Presario SR1834NX w/XP Media Center Edition 2005. The computer is about 2 years old. It has an AMD Athlon 64 3500+ processor, 2.0 GB Memory, 250GB Hard Drive, and ATI Radeon Xpress 200 Integrated Graphics.

I downloaded a Video Burning Program called Ashampoo and installed it. When I tried to use it, I kept getting an error that says "Not Enough Resources to Process Command ". I've tried to contact Ashampoo, but just keep getting a "canned response" and no answers, so I just removed it from my system. I checked my memory at the time and it said it was 71% free. I have a burning program that was preloaded on the computer called Sonic Digital Media Plus and it works just fine. I just thought I would get a better, more recent product.

Why would I get an error like that, and what does it mean, and is there any way to research it and fix it? Any help would surely be appreciated. My experience with computers is better than the average guy, but I'm not an expert.

    Thanks so much,

    Can you clarify??

Was the exact wording of the error "Not enough resources are available to complete this operation" or "Not enough resources are available to process this command "?

I want to ensure the exact message?

As well you mention "71 % free ". What are you using to see this? If it is a "memory manager ", exit it and then try AShampoo again.
XP manages memory just fine and needs no additional help. As well, memory managers really do nothing for the performance of a system and in fact can be detrimental.

The exact error message said: "Insufficient system resources exist to complete the requested service ". All the other functions of the product seem to work properly. I only get that message when I click on "copy CD/DVD/BlueRay Disk ".

I used "Task Manager" to see how much memory was being used.

Thanks for replying. I'm still waiting for a response from Ashampoo.

Do you have enough free drive space to buffer the requested copy process?

I am using the free trial version, but it is version 8.03, and I have 118 GB free on my hard drive.

I did as you suggested; I uninstalled version 8.3 and went to snapfiles.com and downloaded the free version (6.0) and installed it, and it does the same thing. Everything about the program works except the "copy cd/dvd/bluray disk" function and I get the same error message: "insufficient system resources to complete the requested service ".

Also, check if there is a related message listed in Event Viewer.

To open Event Viewer, go to Start > Run and type eventvwr.msc, click OK.

Check your Application and System logs for errors.

You can double click on any error for more details, and there is also a button to copy the error to your clipboard for easy copying & pasting.

I have 118 Gigabytes free on my hard drive, and looking at the event viewer as you suggested, showed no errors.
