I guess this is the folder you referred ti in your thread in the Outlook forum?

    Some background ....

When you delete a file any reference to it is removed from the file system, but the file remains on the drive. The space that it occupies is flagged as available and in time that space will be used for writing another file or part of a file.

Time is of the essence - the longer you delay in attempting to recover the file the likelyhood that the disk space has been reused increases and the less likely the chances of recovery are.

There is no guarantee that you can recover the file, but try File Recovery (freeware) ....

CONVAR & PCinspector Data Recovery Datenrettung recupero dati datarecovery rcupration donnes

I have not had to use it in anger, but I have evaluated their program for recovering image files from Compact Flash cards and it worked OK, but no chance of overwrite in that case.

By now the data will almost certainly have been overwritten and irrecoverable using 'normal' file recovery programs. Forensic software might do the trick, as used no doubt by the FBI and others, but from your point of view I'm afraid the data is gone.

Perhaps a lesson to be learned from this experience - backup, backup and backup again :)

Is this the Same issue as your other thread?

If so, the deleted mail was deleted from inside the pst file.

If you had actually deleted the pst file then the recovery software might have helped.
