Hello, I'm most likely saying this wrong but I currently use Thunderbird 2.0.0.14 to get my Comcast e-mail. I'm wondering if I can use Googles GMAIL to receive my mail from Comcast instead of T-Bird. Nothing wrong with T-bird I just want to setup and use GMAIL for my mail program. Hi Ramona, always nice to see you at your finest, still helping us out of our little dilemas....
    Thank You

Gmail for example has a SETTINGS->Forward tab that will forward all gmail to TBird.

You'll need to look in the on-line setting at Comcast to see if they have a forwarding options.

Sorry Steve, I wanted all my mail FWD to GMAIL from T-BIRD or from Comcast. I knew I must have said it wrong.

    You will have to:
    1. login to Comcast online email.
    2. use Forwarding to forward all messages to your gmail address.
    3. login to gmail to view your messages.

You can also use TB to get all messages from the gmail account too, which is what I do. I have about 7 different email accounts and use TB to grab them all, including my gmail accounts.

    forward comcast to gmail:

    enable gmail pop:

    use TB to pop gmail:

If you want to store the messages at gmail then config TB to leave messages on server.

I know that you asked Ramona, but, another opinion should not hurt.
There are some things in 3.0 which I like, but others will time time to get used to. At this point, I prefer 2.x, which is still my default.

    Paul,

I do like the improvements in Firefox 3.0, and despite the problem sometimes encountered when transferring Firefox 2.0.0.14/15 data, definitely prefer it over Version 2.x.x..

    For example:
    Faster Gecko engine

    Improved graphics performance

Redesigned download manager with built-in search and the ability to resume downloads

The password manager in Firefox 3 asks the user if they would like it to remember the password after the log on attempt rather than before. By doing this users are able to avoid storing an incorrect password in the password manager after a bad log on attempt. (This is one of my favorites, no more duplicates in the Password Manager.)

The Add-ons window has an additional tab for plugins

    Improved memory usage

I could go on and on, but these are just some of the obvious improvements.

Thanks EVERYONE for the great tips and help....

I agree Ramona about the upgrades to FF 3.0. it completely blows my mind that the amount of people changing from IE to FF is not higher than the Polls say. My favorite change so far is the Pop-Up asking about the remember password. Anyway as always you are at the TOP of your game Ramona with your knowledge & tips. I can't say enough about this Forum. Hands down, the BEST on the WWW. People, hope you all have a great Summer....
    Thank You All,
    ~Paul
