Some ebay pages are not loading correctly since I upgraded to FF 3.0. Eg.
    1. The down arrow does not appear against the actions columns in My eBay.
    2. The "Respond Now" box does not appear in eBay messages.
These problems happen whether I use FF with all my add-ons loaded, or whether I run FF in "safe mode ". However, there is no problem if I load the page using the IE Tab extention (to emulate Internet Explorer), or use an alternative browser.

Has anyone else experienced this, and does anyone have a solution?

You imply that you did not have the problem before getting 3.0. Presumably with FF2.0.0.14. I never used used eBay, so I would not know, but the simple fact that IE Tab works, tells me that the website is designed with IE in mind. That is one reason why IE Tab came out.
I did searches, and came out with nothing but a lot of confusion. But, the consensus is that eBay is trouble.

I did have some problems with eBay some time ago - which is why I originally installed the IE Tab. But I did not have these particular problems prior to upgrading to FF 3.0, and I would have thought that the problems that I am now experiencing are so fundamental to operating an eBay account that they would be well known and documented.

    Welcome to the Forum, ubtree!

    Ubtree,

    Start Firefox in Safe Mode:
Start | Programs | Mozilla Firefox | Mozilla Firefox (Safe Mode)

If this works, then you have an extension/add-on that is interfering with eBay viewing.

If no joy, then create a test Profile:
    Close Firefox
    Start | Run
Type in the blank field: firefox.exe -p
This will open the Profile Manager

    Next:
    Click: Create new Profile
Give this Profile a unique name so you can differentiate from the original profile.

Start Firefox with the new Profile and see if the problem persists.

    Let us know what happens.

    No, this does not work.
Yes! Firefox works perfectly with this profile. So what does this mean?

    Ubtree,

It means that your Profile is corrupt, so you will need to copy Profile data from the original Profile, to the new.

First: backup your profile folder (xxxxxxxx.profilename)
Create a "Backup" folder on your HDD for this purpose. Simply left click the profile name folder and select "copy ". Next, left click the "Backup" folder, and select: "paste ". Ensure that Firefox is closed during the edit.

    Next:
Copy only the below files, then paste them into the new Profile, replacing the existing files:

    cert8.db - Certificates
    cookies.sqlite - Cookies
formhistory.sqlite - Info entered into forms on websites
    key3.db - Password database
permissions.sqlite - Cookies, images, popups, and ext. install permissions
    persdict.dat - Personal Dictionary
    places.sqlite - Bookmarks & Browsing History
    signons3.txt- Passwords

Let us know if all goes well.

I followed your instructions to create a new profile, but when I had finished the problem was back again! So I repeated the process, but this time copying one file at a time - and discovered that the problem occurred after copying the permissions.sqlite file. I then realised that I had caused the problem myself by setting up an exclusion using Adblock Plus.

There didn't seem to be a way to remove the exclusion using Adblock Plus, and uninstalling Adblock Plus itself did not help. After some more research I found a program ( http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=87946&package_id=91778&release_id=414746 ) that I could use to edit permissions.sqlite file , and used it to delete the entry that related to eBay. And now everything works as it should!

Thank you for all your help, Ramona - you're a star !

    Ubtree,

Thanks for the feedback, and kudos to you for figuring out that the culprit was AdBlock...
