Tired of hitting the start menu to see "Too Many Programs, not enough room to show them all ".
The list far from fills the height of the screen.
    Thx

Yes, it seems to have solved the problem.
What will happen when the programs begin showing up on the list again?
It appears that if the numbers are not balanced the notification will return.
    Am I mistaken about this?
    Thx Broni. :)

Probably. Thus it is my preference to rt click the start button > select Properties > use Classic menu. No more notices ever!

I decided to stay w/ the XP Start Menu, and on the customize tab for # of programs on start menu I put 0,which seems to keep anything from showing up, other than what I've entered above the line (so to speak).
This seems to keep the notification at bay.
I never saw the need for the other programs used to be listed (below the line), so this seems to be the way to turn that mess off.
    Hope this helps someone else.
