File Types! | Icon | Open not

    lol i wanted to change my folder icon so i went in to do that..

    tools=>folder options=>file types=> and found 2 icons that looked like folder but when i went on the upper one :( i culd change but now every time i try to open a folder i goes to seach in that folder...

    and i was gona like make a open so i made a new one and made it go to explorer.exe.. that was smart.. now it opens a new folder every time.. how do i reset this??? please help

    Go to Start >Run and type:

    regsvr32 /i shell32.dll

    Explorer opens search window: To further enhance this thread for future searchers benefit, this problem can also be cured by another free tool called Dial-a-fix. It can also fix a wide range of other mysterious problems so it's a good tool for anyone to have. It's so smart, it will detect this folder opening problem the moment you invoke it without you having to make any settings and ask if you want it repaired. :cool:

    Then lastly, you can go to the Doug Knox site and download his fix for this problem.
