My boss has just purchassed a new Toshiba Satellite laptop, and when surfing the web, IE 6 freezes. We get an error message that the problem was caused by Macromedia Flash Player 7. The system runs Vista. Has anybody come across this problem before, or has anybody got any suggestions as how to fix this problem. All the above software came pre-installed in the laptop.

    Cheers

I'd update to the latest version, which at this point is 9.0.124.0.

    ie 6 / 7

    Arie,
Many thanks for your reply, and fixing up my password problems. When IE froze up, we receiver a warning message which stated that the problem with IE6 was being caused by Macromedia Flash Player 7. When I checked for installed programes, IE6 and IE7 were both listed. I then contacted Toshiba in Australia re this problem, as this was a brand new machine, and they suggested that I download and install Macromedia 9. I did this, and it fixed the problem. So I suspect that either MM7 had a problem with the installation from the factory, or it is simply not designed to run on Vista. Either way, the problem is now rectified. Again, many thanks for your help.

    Cheers
    Graham
