Hi..have xp pro installed on my pc and it has outlook express as my mail manager. I always thought that Outlook was part of XP pro (one of the reasons I got it). How come outlook express is my email application and not outlook? Tried the microsoft site and came up with nothing. Can anyone tell me what I'm missing here? thanks...Michelle:confused:

Hi Michelle, you are out of luck and not missing anything.

Outlook Express has been the only e-mail client that has been bundled with any of MS's operating systems/internet browser from Windows 98 to XP. I think Vista has a new, but similar e-mail.

MS Outlook has always come as part of MS Office along with Word, Excel, MS Access, PowerPoint, etc. It is a pay $$$ for Office Suite.:(

You have two post going on the same thing. Please try to limit the same problem to one post so that we can see what has been suggested and tried and what happened when it was done. Thanks.

You can also just buy the Outlook mail client itself, but again, extra $$$.

If I had to buy MS software, the only thing I would buy is Outlook. For me that's the only one worth it. All other software I would use free alternatives ;)
