I have installed XP on my Vista laptop. From the XP partition, I can move files onto the Vista partition (where I still have all my documents) only by right-click, drag-n-drop, and then click on the Move option. I am so used to simply left-click dragging and dropping, with Windows doing the rest. Is there any way I can retain this functionality, when copying files from one partition to the next?

Hold down the Shift key when dragging and it should move instead of copy. Copying rather than moving using the left mouse button is the default behavior when working across partitions and drives.

Thanks, Miz. That did it. Just to clarify in case someone searches this out later on, you have to left-click on the document first, and then hit Shft, and then drag the doc wherever you want it. Doing it in reverse order (Shift key, then drag-n-drop) results in copying, not moving. Thanks again.

Sorry...I've had single click enabled so long I'd completely forgotten about clicking once to select first.
